Training Opportunities

If you would like to become a leader, teacher, mentor or facilitator for any of the NAMI Signature Programs, you must be trained by a certified State Trainer in that program.

Following is the current training schedule for leaders of NAMI signature education and peer support programs.

To become a State Trainer for a NAMI Signature Program:

(All trainings will take place in Arlington, VA, during April 2020.)

  • NAMI Basics:  You must have taught at least one complete NAMI Basics course within the past 12 months.
  • NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group:  You must have at least 6 months experience facilitating a NAMI Connection group, utilizing the NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group model within the past 12 months.
  • NAMI Family Support Group:  You must have at least 6 months experience facilitating a NAMI Family Support Group, using the NAMI Family Support Group model within the past 12 months.
  • NAMI Family-to-Family:  You must have taught at least one complete NAMI Family-to-Family course within the past 12 months.
  • NAMI Homefront:  You must have taught at least one complete in-person NAMI Homefront course within the past 12 months.
  • NAMI In Our Own Voice:  You must have given at least five NAMI In Our Own Voice presentations (using the 2018 edition) within the past 12 months.
  • NAMI Peer-to-Peer:  You must have taught at least one complete NAMI Peer-to-Peer course (using the 2018 edition) within the past 12 months.
  • NAMI Provider:  You must have taught at least one complete NAMI Provider course (all 5 sessions) within the past 12 months.
