Mini-Grants for Implementing the Tobacco Guideline for Behavioral Health Care

$50,000 in mini-grant funds has been allocated to support organizations who serve individuals living with a serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder and who develop a work plan to implement one or more of the 12 strategies outlined in the Kansas Tobacco Guideline for Behavioral Health Care. Grants of up to $5,000 are available. 

Download the Request for Proposals (RFP) to review the purpose of this mini-grant program and all requirements.  The RFP outlines eligible applicants and eligible projects, including discussion of project ideas which are ineligible.  The RFP discusses criteria that reviewers will use in evaluating proposals.  Detailed instructions are included in the RFP for the online application process which includes the submission of necessary files to be uploaded.

A set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the mini-grant program is posted at the referenced link. Periodic updates to the FAQs will be published as new questions are raised up until the August 2nd deadline. Applicants should check back as needed to determine if new material has been posted.

Completed proposals must be submitted online by close of business on August 2, 2019.  Award decisions will be made, and applicants will be notified by October 7, 2019.  Work plans should be designed to begin on November 1, 2019 and conclude by October 30, 2020.

All applicants must have endorsed the Tobacco Guideline for Behavioral Health Care and completed the Tobacco Guideline Self-Assessment.   A fillable PDF Endorsement Form can be downloaded at the link provided.  The Self-Assessment when downloaded is also a fillable PDF. 

Organizations which are contemplating the submission of an application are encouraged to begin their self-assessment right away in order to have this score ready to include with the application.
